Folks ****** Proposition #5 and Proposition #10 for Californians to vote on this Nov. 6, 2018 are very important to the Protection of Homeownership! A "Yes" vote on Prop. #5 means that a Homeowner, 55 years or older, can Transfer their current Property Tax Base to any other county within the whole state of California. Right now there are only a few counties that allow this transfer.
It also protects Severely Disable Homeowners and the Families effected by a Natural Disaster. So if you sell your home and your property tax was 1.1% when you purchased it and buy a new home. You will be able to transfer that 1.1% property tax to that new purchase. ****** Proposition #10 will allow external government entities to dictate how much you will be allowed to charge when renting out your property and even how much you can charge when renting out a room in your home. . *** KEEPING UPDATED ON IMPORTANT ISSUES FOR MY CLIENTS ***
Hi Folks ! *** This week was very interesting. I attended a conference hosted by Alissa Happe Hernandez from Lawyers Title Co. The guest speaker was Bob Dutton who is San Bernardino's County Assessor and has also served as a State Senator. It was good to be refreshed on some issues and also to have new updated information delivered right from the "horses mouth" so to speak.
Topics were all about San Bernardino's Property Taxes and how they are assessed in different circumstances, some more details on the existing California's Prop 13 and it's benefits to homeowners, along with the new Propositions # 5 and # 10, which are on California's Ballot this Nov. 6, 2018. It was a great conference and Senator Dutton was gracious, knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Thank You Sir for giving up some of your precious time.
